First Impression wins national branding contract to brand Buxton College

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

First Impression won a competitive pitch to rebrand Buxton College beating companies from as far away as Yorkshire and London. Buxton College is part of the University of Derby but they wanted their own identity which reflected their heritage and unique Dome where the College is housed. First Impression understood that Buxton College provides an inspiring place to work and study as well as the many visitors that come through its doors. The new branding was launched this week by the College and their new prospectus will be available very soon! We are very proud of the result and hope the people who work and study at Buxton College will be too.

3 Peaks Challenge for First Impression designers

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Dan Collins and Rob Jenkins who both work at First Impression in Glossop are taking up the challenge with Peak Active Sport on bank holiday weekend to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – within 24 hours!  No mean feat.

And why are they doing it? It’s to raise money for ‘Agapao’ who work in Africa who Peak Active Sport have been closely associated with. Good luck to Dan and Rob and all the Peak Active Sport team members! We’re sure you will do well and will have a few stories to tell on Tuesday, and particularly sore feet…

New publication Glossop Life hits the streets

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

A brand new lifestyle and community magazine Glossop Life has been published and is now hitting the streets. The A4 full colour magazine includes a story from Glossop Mountain Rescue and a brief history of how Glossop first came again. It’s also got a great arts and crafts and music section and 32 other pages to keep you interestered. 4,000 copies have been hand delivered, the remaining 6,000 are being distrubted around the town and surrounding district in key points such as Tescos, Co-op, Costa Coffee. They’ve been flying off the shelves in Tescos, we can hardly keep up with demand and the feedback has been tremendous. And we’ve been getting stories for the next issue…

Preparing for Growth

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

First Impression attended and exhibited at the recent Barclays ‘Let’s Talk – Preparing for Growth’ seminar on the 18th November. An excellent event, with 200 businesses coming along to hear Rene Carayol, the world renowned business guru and leading speaker. Rene was inspirational and thought provoking and gave us 12 top tips for growing our businesses. We were delighted with the opportunity to exhibit at the event as an example of a growing business in these difficult times and we came away with many new contacts. There are still a few of the Let’s Talk events taking place around the country and it’s worth finding out more www.preparingforgrowth.co.uk

Winner of Business Bullseye

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Well this is my first blog….I thought it was about time that First Impression started doing a blog as we tell our customers all the time how they can help with search engine optimisation! Our competition we’ve been running with High Peak Radio came to an end on Friday – Business Bullseye. The business card that was hit on the dart board was Harry Hall’s Joinery from Chapel-en-le-Frith, who will win a website designed and built by us, worth £500. What a great prize! The runners up have also been offered £50 off a website if they still to get a website for their business. Every business, no matter what size needs a website, if you don’t have one, you don’t exist. It’s the first thing you do to check out a business, go and look online! If there isn’t a website you question whether they are real or not. Anyway congratulations to Harry Hall’s Joinery…
